Edgar Cayce and MassageEdgar Cayce Readings that mention massage Cayce is the most famous psychic of the 20th century, and is considered by many to be the father of holistic medicine. He gave over 14000 psychic readings during his lifetime, the majority, of which, were for health issues. Of these health readings, Cayce recommended massage to be given to assist with the healing from many physical problems. The following are the number of readings in which massage was suggested to be used for help with each disorder: Multiple Sclerosis – 155 readings, Arthritis - over 500 readings, Anxiety – 223 readings, Cerebral Palsy – 43 readings, Cancer – 268 readings, Constipation – 171 readings, Headache – 245 readings, Hypothyroidism – 27 readings, Kidney Stones – 11 readings, Neuropathy – 86 readings, and Vertigo – 41 readings. My connection with Edgar Cayce From my father I learned to follow rules but to internally question the status quo, and from my mother I learned patience, tolerance and to be helpful. I discovered Edgar Cayce after a mentor recommended that I read ‘There Is A River' by Thomas Sugrue. I was subsequently compelled to read many books about Cayce's work which eventually led me to seek out and join a ‘Search for God' study group. In 1988, just as my wife, Lou, and I were getting ready to be married and to move to North Carolina , we joined our first ‘SFG' study group. Since that time, we've been in this type of study group continually. During the past 20 years, the Cayce material has been our primary source of guidance for direction in health, work, spiritual understanding, and personal growth. Eventually (guided by our work with the Edgar Cayce organization, the Association for Research and Enlightenment) we both decided to leave our prior careers to pursue types of healing work which were important to the health readings given by Cayce. I am a massage therapist and Lou is a colon hydrotherapist.
